Spotlight | Supporting USO – Dallas Fort Worth

Earlier this week, TeamBonding organized an Operation: Military Care program with a huge group in Texas – 800 people! The group put together care packages to donate to USO Dallas Fort Worth (United Service Organizations) as well as United Through Reading.

The USO was created by Franklin D. Roosevelt during World War II with the mission of providing an indispensable service to US troops to give them emotional support during hard times. Over the years, the USO has developed and created new services and programs to provide to troops and their families. Now one of the biggest charities in Dallas, the USO has provided families of soldiers with tokens of happiness and support for years.

TeamBonding coordinated the Operation: Military Care program with the USO chapter in Dallas Fort Worth this week in order to lift the spirits of a group of soldiers and their families. Participants in the program were given various challenges where they could earn tokens in order to buy different products to add to their care packages, such as candy, deodorant, DVDs, frisbees, gum, puzzles, soap, socks, sunblock, toothpaste and lots more.

Through this program, deployed parents are given the opportunity to video-record themselves reading storybooks out loud to their children so that they can feel closer to them even when separated. All in all, the event was a HUGE success! We hope to work with the USO Dallas Fort Worth chapter and United Through Reading again in the future.
