TeamBonding Does the Do Good Bus

As you may have noticed, we’ve been all a buzz about the Do Good Bus by TeamBonding and our team likes to walk the talk.

Since launching one of our newest charitable team building programs, we’ve had plans to get on the bus and that’s exactly what we did this month to help out Community Servings in Jamaica Plain, MA.

A Boston Team Building Event

First, we had a fantastically festive bus ride full of ice breakers, music and social media. Oh, there was also a singing elf hat. Who could ask for more?

Once we arrived in Jamaica Plain, we got off the bus for more ice breakers, a shared lunch and started to get to work.

The Community Servings Volunteer Management Coordinator, Malissa Harmon, was hands down one of the highlights of this Boston team building event. She has been with the organization for over 13 years and walked our entire team through an orientation that included a ton of information about the daily contributions of Community Servings.

Community Servings prepares and delivers 7,500 lunches and dinners each week to the homes of almost 800 individuals and families who are homebound with an acute life-threatening illness. That’s just the tip of the iceberg! Their program initiatives include food service training, nutritional education, international assistance, social enterprise and so, so, so much more. This explains why the Patriot ledger was there to run three pieces about their programs. Count ’em. Three!

  1. Non-profit serves up Christmas year-round to severely ill
  2. Community Servings serves up help
  3. Community Servings delivers meals and hope

Before this team building event in Boston, most of us had honestly never heard of Community Servings. That’s the beauty of the Do Good Bus by TeamBonding. We bonded over doing good and having a shared experience – one that we may have never discovered by simply volunteering as individuals or small groups. Many members of our team are even planning to go back and help out again!

Is you company planning to do good as we head into the New Year? What types of team building events are you looking forward to?

Plays well with these activities.
