Breaking Records | LA And NYC Team Building That Gives Back

Last month was a culmination of many things: the shortest month of the year, the first phase of big projects, the kick-off of the New Year. Do you feel the burn, yet? We do!

At TeamBonding, last month was the culmination of the largest Operation Military Care event in our history. Toward the end of February, our hallways were stocked with supplies, our teams kicked into high gear (over the weekend!) and our hearts were filled with gratitude. If you want to give back to the community as a team, we’re right there with you!

As you know, it can very stressful when you’re asked to put in extra hours at work. Time is a valuable asset that should be managed with a healthy work-life balance to stay happy and productive. Some leaders are great at rewarding and motivating their teams when they’re asked to go above and beyond. Some teams feel empowered by the extra work they are getting done, pushing toward their annual goals. Other times, a project itself is a reward. When you’re really lucky, all of these things are true.

Teams must work together in order to “purchase” 40 of the most requested items of overseas service members and piece together the packages in small groups. In 2013, over 1,400 care packages were donated to various non-profits throughout the year.

This February, TeamBonding planned two events – one on each coast of the US – culminating in a donation of over 1,600 care packages to a single non-profit called Operation Gratitude. Approximately 1,800 care packages have been donated through TeamBonding’s Operation Military Care program in 2014, already exceeding donations in 2013.

“On behalf of the soldiers, I would like to thank you for your support. To have people we don’t know express appreciation by taking the time to send us a package and a note means a lot to us.” M.A. – SSG SECTION LEADER

Operation Gratitude is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization that annually sends 100,000 care packages filled with snacks, entertainment items and personal letters of appreciation addressed to individually named U.S. Service Members deployed in hostile regions, to their children left behind and to Veterans, First Responders, Wounded Warriors and their Care Givers. Since its inception, over 1,000,000 care packages have been shipped to American Military members and their children through Operation Gratitude.

We are so grateful!

A HUGE thank you goes out to our clients, our event managers, our facilitators, our event staff, our headquarters team as a whole, the local post offices and our vendors for making these events and these donations possible!

Are you looking for a way to give back through team building? Operation Military Care is a great program whether you’re located in NYC, LA or virtually any part of the country. If you have a military care package story to share, we’d love to hear from you.

Plays well with these activities.
