Urban planning game for teams

City Build is a fun, memorable experience that emphasizes strong team dynamics and group-wide collaboration. Planning, strategy and clear communication are essential to ensuring the zones of your city interconnect and flow smoothly. A defined time limit means you’ll also be drawing on time and resource management skills.

Small teams are each assigned a specific zone to build. These include industrial, residential, leisure and business districts, plus interconnecting infrastructure features like roads, rail and waterways. Teams must collaborate effectively as they develop their plans – a shared vision helps maintain coherent flow across the various zones, so your city can function as a whole. The goal is for teams to make their sections as aesthetically pleasing as they are functional.

Once the individual sections are complete, we connect them all together to create a big reveal moment. This is a great time for everyone to stop and take in the full picture of what they’ve accomplished together. The results may not be perfect. But it’s all part of the experience – with the right mindset, there are laughs and lessons to be shared from both the successes and failures. Sort of like real life.

Space requirement

You’ll want a large indoor space – a private conference room or ballroom is perfect. Each team will need with a round table, with a chair for each participant. We’ll also need 2 – 3 long tables at the front of the room for event materials. Groups larger than 50 require a microphone and speaker setup.
